TOP UN CLIMATE OFFICIAL RESIGNS

Frustrated with the inability to accomplish anything, Yvo de Boer said he will step down July 1.

As a result, the 193 nations scheduled to meet again in Mexico 5 months from now to continue talks on a worldwide global warming agreement are in limbo.

Unlike these nations, Obama's Department of Energy is running a $5 billion federal weatherization program to assist our nation in saving energy.

ABC, "Only 9,100 homes had been weatherized nationwide as of Dec. 31, according to the new report by the Government Accountability Office. ... It actually weatherized more than 22,000 homes last year with [slush] funds. Either way, it's a far cry from the 593,000 that the government plans to complete during the course of the Recovery Act, which runs through March 2012. ... Only 10% of the $5 billion for weatherization has been spent so far, 91,000 houses out of 593,000 which would have been weatherized."

Do the math and cost per house amounts to $57,000. This is a federally funded project which includes a multitude of requirements, government red tape, driving up costs and delaying efforts.

Obama's economic adviser commented on the projects, "They would pay off purely as economic problems, even if there was no energy independence issue, even if there was no environmental issue. So the constraint is not going to be lack of federal budget, the constraint is simply going to be how rapidly these projects can be implemented."

Imagine what will occur if a global warming agreement is made.

TODAY'S BIGGEST DEFICIT: COMMON SENSE

The Gas Technology Institute conducted one of the studies which concluded our economy will suffer $2.3 trillion in lost opportunity costs over the next 20yrs. Instead of developing jobs, economic growth, the ability to reduce out of control deficits, Americans will face increased taxes and trade deficits.

IBD, "The U.S. used 22.8 trillion feet of gas and 5.2 billion barrels of oil in 2009. Locked up by federal restrictions are approximately 43 billion barrels of oil and 286 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. Without access to these resources, average natural gas prices will rise 17% by 2030 and electricity prices will "necessarily skyrocket," as Barack Obama once said, by 5%. The net effect of our energy inaction will be a reduction in gross domestic product by $2.36 trillion cumulatively through 2029, or by 0.52% annually. We'd also be forgoing hundreds of thousands of high-paying energy and construction sector jobs here in the U.S. as well as missing a golden opportunity to sharply cut our trade deficit."

The simple truth is energy is expensive. Eliminating America as a resource does not just eradicate any possibility of all associated employment, but reduces competition. Fewer producers equates to more market control, less need for lower pricing. Consider the hypocrisy of our government continually breaking national monopolies as opposed to creating the foreign energy monster.

How many overall jobs could be created, energy produced by opening Alaska to drilling? Still waiting for stimulus or is common sense beginning to set in?

THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE SPEAKING OUT IN A BIG WAY

Yesterday Sen Bayh became the fifth Dem to step up and say 'No más'. In Bayh's case he retires the day before the ballot deadline for his party, with $13 million in his campaign coffers, and as part of a super majority in congress. He spoke of partisan bickering holding up progress in moving legislation forward yet he was on the side of the super majority. Partisan problems had nothing to do with Obama's legislation being stonewalled, the people never wanted it nor were willing to accept it.

Remember the 'Miss me yet?' billboard? It is not just the tea party who is speaking out. There is another billboard which is catching attention.

Located off a highway near a correctional institute, a group of small business owners shared expenses to maintain it for six months.

A viewer reported, "I just think what Obama is doing and the whole administration and the Democratic Congress is just bad for business when you look at the deficits and everything they're doing."

Dems are fast to step up and defend how their stimulus plan has assisted small business, including this area. Sen Bayh was no longer willing to fight the people.

TEAM OBAMA: WORKING OUT OF THE CORNER AGAIN

Yesterday on Face the nation Joe Biden took time away from the Olympics for center stage Sunday news to deny Cheney's allegations that this administration is avoiding terrorism.

Biden, "Dick Cheney is a fine fellow. He’s entitled to his own opinion. He’s not entitled to rewrite history without it being challenged. He’s not entitled to his own facts. It’s one thing to criticize. It’s another thing to sort of rewrite history."

Biden defended his statement by comparing the 50 minute interrogation of the 'underwear bomber' and subsequent reading of his Miranda rights to Bush's handling of the 'shoe bomber'. He explained that Richard Reid (shoe bomber), like the 'underwear bomber', was tried in civil court. “I don't know what Dick's been doing lately, we did exactly what he did with the shoe bomber.”

What Mr Biden failed to mention was the fact that at the time of Richard Reid's trial there was no other option than a civil trial, the military court had not yet been established.
